Jamming: on a roll of 1, 2 or 3. After jamming you must spend a level of Speed Effort before firing it again. Enabler.
Weapon Distinction: Stabbing.
When an attacker using one rolls a 17 or higher on a successful attack, he inflicts 1 additional point of damage beyond any bonus damage normally granted by his roll.
However, if he rolls a 5 or less on a successful attack, he inflicts 1 less point of damage as the weapon glances or grazes off the foe.
• Pierce (0 Cost): This is a well-aimed, penetrating ranged attack. You make an attack and inflict 1 additional point of damage if your weapon has a sharp point. Action.
• Gunslinger: You can spend points from either your Speed Pool or your Intellect Pool to apply levels of Effort to increase your firearm damage.
Each level of Effort adds 3 points of damage to a successful attack, and if you spend a turn lining up your shot, each level of Effort adds 5 points of damage to a successful attack instead. Enabler.
Cypher Use: You can bear two cyphers at a time.
Practiced in Armor: You reduce the Might cost per hour for wearing armor and the Speed Pool reduction for wearing armor by 2. Enabler.
Practiced With All Weapons: You can use any weapon. Enabler.

Gun Slinger [Danger Sense] (1 Speed point): The difficulty of your initiative roll is reduced by one step. Enabler.
Trained Without Armor: You are trained in Speed defense actions when not wearing armor. Enabler.

Inability: You’ll try anything once or twice. The difficulty of any task that involves patience, willpower, or discipline is increased by one step.
FOCUS: Lays Down Lead
Tier 1: Gunslinger.
You are practiced with using firearms and suffer no penalty when using one. Those not practiced increase the difficulty level on attacks with firearms by one step.
In addition, to be truly deadly with a gun, you must know where to aim. You can spend points from either your Speed Pool or your Intellect Pool to apply levels of Effort to increase your firearm damage. Each level of Effort adds 3 points of damage to a successful attack, and if you spend a turn lining up your shot, each level of Effort adds 5 points of damage to a successful attack instead. Enabler.
You are trained in crafting and repairing firearms and making ammunition, but the parts that you use aren’t always reliable, jamming on a roll of 1, 2 or 3. After jamming you must spend a level of Speed Effort before firing it again. Enabler.
Minor Effect: Hit in a tendon or muscle, the target can’t move on its next turn.
Major Effect: An artery hit causes the target to bleed for 1 point of damage each round until the target succeeds at a difficulty 3 Intellect or Speed task to bind the wound.
Connection: You’re in trouble for acting recklessly. You join the other PCs because they offer a way out of your problem.
Visual Displacement Device
Effect: Projects holographic images of the wearer to confuse attackers. The images appear around the wearer.
This gives the wearer an asset to Speed defense actions for ten minutes.
Force Shield Projector
Effect: Creates a shimmering energy shield around the user for one hour, during which time he gains +4 Armor.
ARTIFACTS & ODDITIES
Form: rugged clothing
Effect: If this clothing is struck, it hardens upon impact, providing +1 to Armor.
It then immediately returns to its normal state (which is in no way encumbering). This clothing cannot be worn with armor of any kind.
Form: A pair of synth goggles with dark, protruding lenses
Effect: Outside, the wearer can see at night as if it were daylight. Inside, the wearer can see in pitch darkness for short range.
Form: An organic pod, almost like a small, hemispherical bit of fruit.
Once grafted to a host, it takes on the appearance of the host’s flesh.
Effect: The pod grafts onto any living host (usually near the brain or spine) and injects chemicals that boost the creature’s metabolism. This grants the host a +5 bonus to maximum Speed Pool.
Oddity: Lighter that is indestructible and always works

A childhood friend of Johnah. Traveled a lot and in trouble quite a bit. A master gunslinger, a family trait passed on. Ended up in Qi owing a crimeboss. Hopefully Johnah can help.
Reese is fast and highly trained. He knows a thousand ways to shoot a foe, most of them secret to all but a chosen few. He is privy to techniques and fighting styles that most people in the Ninth World have never seen. He has studied with the masters, and now he carries that regimen as he ventures into the world. He comes from a long line of gunslingers.
Advancement: Reese trains and practices constantly to hone his skills and develop new techniques, building on what he has been taught.
